31 December 2011

Hello dolls, are you ready for the ball to drop at midnight? I AM! I seriously can't wait, 2012 is going to be filled with so much excitement! Mainly because I have some projects in 2012 that I can't wait to tell you about and its going to be hard keeping them quiet until its time lol.But looking back at 2011, I must admit that I had one hell of a good year, along with visiting Los Angeles for the first time, I modeled for Ariane Millinery, Participated in SuperShoots Hit The Lodge Event, got signed to a modeling Agency and learned a lot of life lessons, both the easy and hard way. I regret nothing from this year, heck I don't regret anything in life at all actually; only because what I did before this very moment, has made me the strong woman I am now.

Anyways, just a little post before I take off, I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL, SAFE, AND EXCITING New Year! 2012, here we comeee!!!!! (:

The Meaning Behind "ÉLAN"

Okay so I've changed the name of my blog for two reasons;
1.) I hope to have my own line called Miranda Castel (which was my old blog name) and I can't have my blog and my clothing line be the same name, I mean I can but I simply don't want to and besides, you can't have two domains with the same address but go to different places
2.) I wanted my blog to have its own name, just like every book has a title, I wanted my blog to have its OWN title.
ÉLAN is a french word that means having the feeling of eagerness or liveliness. I relate to this word 100 % because I'm always eager and excited (about fashion of course lol). Élan also means elegant and can be focused on someones distinct STYLE or flair, not only in their wardrobe, but their forte of music and art. Élan may look like a simple noun, but its actually just the opposite, and that is why I believe that its a perfect name for my blog. It describes not only me, but also my blog. How perfect? ;)

Hello loves! I just got some exciting news and I'm so happy to share it with all of you! I got invited to do another Super Shoots event, this time in Peoria! I did Hit The Lodge earlier this year and it was such an amazing experience, I learned SO much not only about how to pose, but about the actual modeling industry.
Anyways, just stoppin' by to tell you all the news!
Oh p.s. check out this FAB shoes by Balenciaga... I couldn't resist NOT showing them to you, I mean; just LOOK at that heel... wow!

One of My Favorite Holiday Movies...

Elf starring Will Ferrell will forever be one of my favorite movies to watch not only during the holidays, but all throughout the year, ha I'm actually watching it as I type this post! :P
Kind of a "lame" way to spend your Friday night, at home alone watching Elf, but hey I went home from not only school, but work as well since I threw up.. Yup; its flu season... gah:/
Anyways, how are you spending your Friday night? Curled up in a blanket in front of the TV like me, or out on the town with your besties? Lemme know by either commenting this post, or tweeting to me @_MIRANDACASTEL.
Ciao Darlings!
Thanks for Visiting!!!

Wish List

I can't believe Christmas is already almost here! December sure has gone by fashion, heck the whole year has gone by fast!!! Anyways, since its Christmas time, I figured I'd create a Wish List in hope of my loved ones come across it soon! ;)
Take a look;
(from left to right)
-Miss Selfridge Burt Orange Sheer Vest Maxi Dress: I came across this dress on Polyvore and just fell in love! The color is not only one of my faves, but I'm loving sheer right now as well!
-Chanel Nail Lacquer in Péridot & Nouvelle Vague: Do I need an explanation? These colors are gorgeous!
-MAC Lipstick in Speed Dial: Since I usually do a lot of neutral, flirty looks, this MAC lipstick is must!
-Aurélie Bidermann for ANDAM cuff: I've been wanting to get a cuff for so long, but haven't found one in any of the local stores in my city. I came across this one on google though and I must say, I'm in love!
Clarisonic Mia: Oh my goodness, I'm for sure keeping my fingers crossed on this one. I really try to keep up on my skin, make sure I always wash my face at night, exfoliate, get facials, masks etc. so you can only imagine how awesome it would be to get my hands on one of these fantastic gadgets! Everyone should own one in my opinion!!!
-Christian Louboutin Black Patent Leather Pigalle 120 mm Pumps: Although I don't think its gonna happen til' my birthday, I seriously can't wait to finally own this pair of Christian Louboutin's. His shoes are so beautiful.
-Fendi Goldmine Black Leather Bracelet: This bracelet would be the perfect accessory to edge up any look. I love it! (:
-Asos Orange Rectangle Box Bag: Theres just something about this bag that I can't get enough of. I saw it on 5 inch & up's blog and just knew I had to get it. And can't forget, one of my favorite colors! ORANGE!! (:

Oh wow just in time to wrap things up, I just heard the timer go off for the chocolate chip cookies! I'll make sure to tweet a picture of the deliciousness to all of you! lol
I hope Santa brings you everything on YOUR wish list this year!
Merry Christmas!!!!

Thanks for visiting!

06 December 2011

Alright, I have the BIGGEST obsession over shoes, so you can only imagine how happy I was when I received my packages in the mail with all the shoes I recently ordered online from Charlotte Russe and Go Jane. These are the first online stores that I go to when I'm in need of really cute, but affordable shoes. The styles are endless and they don't burn a hole in my pocket; that's always a plus!!
Anyways, take a look at my latest investments and tell me what you think!

Thanks For Visiting <3

Outfit of the Day

(LQ photos due to my camera not being able to focus very well at night. I'm sorry!)
Today I built my outfit from this faux fur vest that I bought at Wetseal. I've been searching for a faux fur vest for the longest time, I've seen a few around but most of the time they didn't have the size in the one I liked. Although this one is a size too big, I was getting a little impatient and it was on sale! BONUS! ;-)
One of my favorite color combinations is brown/tan and teal, so when I was trying to find some accessories for this outfit, I automatically went to my new ring that I bought at Charlotte Russe and this old necklace that I found lying around my moms house.
Vest: WetSeal
Top: Charlotte Russe
Jeans: Abercrombie & Fitch
Boots, Ring & Hat: Charlotte Russe

A Little Bit of Leather, A Little Bit of Lace

Data Romance - "Bones"

This is my most recent blazer purchase, and I couldn't ask for a better one. I found this amazing CHIA leather blazer with lace sleeves and lace lapels. I love this jacket mainly because you can easily add a little girly edge by throwing this jacket over a cute blouse!
I actually took one of my necklaces and attached it to a clutch that I found at a thrift store! I've been thinking about doing a thrift store haul. I have bought countless clutches from thrift stores, 90% of my blazers are purchased at thrift stores; not even kidding!
I'm wearing: CHIA blazer, Sam Edelman booties, Indigo Rein Jeans, Charlotte Russe tank, thrifted clutch

Where is my dedication?

I've been going through a lot of personal things lately which is why I've I guess you can say, "gone missing". I haven't updated my blog in weeks and I'm really sorry. I hate feeling like I'm letting all my readers down because I haven't been dedicated to my blog; therefore I am hoping to get back on schedule starting Monday. I finally got my camera back so I'll be able to start posting some celebrity inspired looks, make up tutorials, vlogs, and much more.
I am truly thankful for all of my readers support, I swear I won't disappear on you guys again.
Much Love,
