Hey everyone, long time aye!? Yeah I know I've been slacking at updating my blog, but I finally got my laptop back and now hopefully I can update more often! Its the end of the term which means I've been focusing a lot on keeping my grades high and completing my school work, that is another reason I've kind of been MIA lately. But enough of why my personal life has got me slacking and lets get to the good stuff, I mean; that is why your visiting my site right?

Goodbye January

I can't believe January is seriously already over?! Well when the clock strikes midnight it will be at least :P This month has gone by so fast, I really hope the rest of the year doesn't follow the same path. But looking back, January treated me just fine. I'm doing great in school, focusing a lot on my fashion portfolio, I have an amazing boyfriend whom I love dearly and have been through so much with, and I'm actually starting to get a hang of this whole blogging lifestyle. I mean its really hard being a full time student trying to keep your grades steady, having a job, a social life, and still keep up with a blog. Its hard work!

First Look of 2012

Not only is this the first look on my blog for 2012, today was also the first time me stepping out of my sweatpants and into my regular attire. Needless to say, I've been a couch potato for the past couple of days but hey, its nice to just lounge around the house here and there, so what? :P
Anyways, a little about my day... I woke up and watched the movie Planet of The Apes, have you seen it? If not, its a MUST SEE! I love love love the movie, it kind of made me wanna raise an ape to be honest. Is that crazy? lol Later in the afternoon, I picked up my friend Arina and she helped me take a few photos for my blog then we had lunch at a place downtown called BOWLS. I had THE BEST pasta ever, I mean look at it, you honestly can't tell me that it doesn't look delish! lol

 And now the clock reads 19.03 and I'm doing one of my favorite things in the world, blogging to you:)

Well tonight is gonna be an early night for me since classes are back in session starting tomorrow! I just wanted to make sure I posted this before I went to bed. I hope everyone had a wonderful Tuesday!

The Meaning Behind "ÉLAN"

Okay so I've changed the name of my blog for two reasons;
1.) I hope to have my own line called Miranda Castel (which was my old blog name) and I can't have my blog and my clothing line be the same name, I mean I can but I simply don't want to and besides, you can't have two domains with the same address but go to different places
2.) I wanted my blog to have its own name, just like every book has a title, I wanted my blog to have its OWN title.
ÉLAN is a french word that means having the feeling of eagerness or liveliness. I relate to this word 100 % because I'm always eager and excited (about fashion of course lol). Élan also means elegant and can be focused on someones distinct STYLE or flair, not only in their wardrobe, but their forte of music and art. Élan may look like a simple noun, but its actually just the opposite, and that is why I believe that its a perfect name for my blog. It describes not only me, but also my blog. How perfect? ;)

My Christmas Look

Alright, I have the BIGGEST obsession over shoes, so you can only imagine how happy I was when I received my packages in the mail with all the shoes I recently ordered online from Charlotte Russe and Go Jane. These are the first online stores that I go to when I'm in need of really cute, but affordable shoes. The styles are endless and they don't burn a hole in my pocket; that's always a plus!!
